Pick of the crop for the Premier Show and Sale
The Northern Ireland Hereford Association’s Premier Sale sponsored by Danske Bank held in Dungannon Farmer’s Market on 20th January sees a record number of entries of top quality bulls on offer, a perfect opportunity for both dairy and suckler farmers to inject some of Northern Ireland’s top breeding into their herds.
Balmoral Show 2016 male champion was sold at last years event and a heifer sold at the 2014 event was carrying the 2016 Balmoral female and supreme champion when sold, it’s fair to say that the cream of the Hereford breed will be on offer on the day.
The top three prize winning herds the the large section from the NIHBA 2016 herd’s competition have bulls at the event for sale, 1st and 2nd winners in the medium herd’s section and also 1st prize in the small herd’s will all have Bulls on the day to be bid on.
As if that wasn’t enough to entice buyers the Senior Champion from the recent Pedigree Calf Fair and a 1st Prize Yearling Bull from the NI National Hereford Show will be for sale.
Sires of Bulls entered include the 2012 UK National Calf Champion and the 2013 NI Calf Show Champion.
Also on offer is the first progeny of the 2016 National Show Supreme Champion as well as Bulls sired by the 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2015 Bulls of the year and 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2016 Sires of the year.
It’s without doubt this will be the best line up of Hereford Bulls for sale this year, a chance to secure an animal with a pedigree packed with quality.
Judging will begin at 11am by George Workman from Garvagh a long time Hereford enthusiast with the sale following at 1pm.
